Par logic, stated plainly
Cycled linen × par
Sheet and duvet-cover sets travel with every bed through the wash cycle, so they multiply by beds × par. Terry — bath, hand, and face towels — is counted per guest capacity × par, and bath mats per bathroom × par.
Durables counted once
Duvet inserts, pillows, and mattress protectors do not change at every stay. They are counted per bed with ten percent attic stock, and protectors at two per bed for rotation.
Robes at 2 par
Bathrobes are laundered less frequently than towels, so a fixed 2 par per guest capacity keeps housekeeping covered without over-stocking.

What is par stock in hotel linen?
One par is one complete set of linen for every bed and bathroom in the hotel. A 3-par inventory means three full sets: one in the room, one in the laundry, and one folded on the shelf ready for the next change.
Should I order 2, 3, or 4 par?
Hotels with an on-premise laundry typically run 3 par. Properties that outsource laundering add transit days to the cycle and usually need 4 par. 2 par only works for short-cycle operations such as serviced apartments with in-unit laundering — most full-service hotels find it too tight.
Why are duvet inserts, pillows, and protectors not multiplied by par?
They are not changed at every stay, so they do not travel through the daily wash cycle. The calculator counts them per bed — duvet inserts with ten percent attic stock, pillows at two per bed plus ten percent, and protectors at two per bed for rotation.
